We are delighted to offer a complete performance of Monteverdi's monumental masterpiece. This revolutionary work draws on a whole variety of new techniques to gain its effect - techniques which come from a world of emotional and dramatic music rather than the accepted 'church' manner of the day. Expressive solos, duets and trios alternate with resplendent choral movements exploiting different groups of voices and instruments. Come and enjoy the sumptuous splendour of this magnificent work - enhanced by the intimate surroundings of the City Church, the beautiful acoustic, and the precision and blend of the Cornerstone Chamber Choir, Orchestra and Soloists
